HI, I’M NINA ANDERSON

Before my career in Direct Sales, I spent many years working in corporate America, specializing in Sales, Marketing and Advertising. I survived 7 rounds of layoffs at my last corporate job and was burnt out, tired of being just a number. I knew there had to be a better way to fulfill the dreams and aspirations I had for my life. I was looking for an opportunity that would allow me to be my own boss, achieve the financial freedom I desired, and have the flexibility to do what I wanted, when I wanted. I took a giant leap of faith and joined a Direct Sales company and quickly found my calling.

This was a surprise to me because I did not believe in the industry. I didn’t see it as a real opportunity to make money. In fact, when I did accept an invitation to a home party, it always felt disingenuous, especially when they’d talk about the “business opportunity.” Yet, as a Direct Sales consultant I have achieved the top rank in my company, built many leaders, recruited many team members, earned numerous incentive trips, been recognized by my company as the President’s Overall Achievement Recipient (2011), and been honored as part of the President’s Circle for Personal and Team sales. In 2012, I was recognized by Colorado Business Women for Business of the Year. I have been awarded Best in Category for personal sales.

It turns out recruiting is all about timing, giving someone an opportunity at the right moment for them.

MY DIRECT SALES OPPORTUNITY WAS OFFERED WHEN MY MIND WAS OPEN AND I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING.

When a corporate recruiter called me, I was flattered not upset.

The same mindset applies to Direct Sales and Network Marketing. I was able to transfer my corporate skills to build a sustainable and thriving business for myself and my family, but it wasn’t a straight line, moving from one success to another. My turning point happened in my third year when I realized wasn’t growing. I knew I needed help from someone who had been there and had overcome the feeling of overwhelm, being stuck, unable to recruit successfully and build a motivated volunteer team gracefully. I found such a person—someone from outside of my company—and what a difference it made in my business!

It doesn’t really matter what Direct Sales or Network Marketing business you are part of, we all face these same issues.
